Czech tennis player Tomas Berdych has retired from Davis Cup to pursue his professional career. 32-year-old Birdich said on Sunday that at this age of age, he can not play without rest.
The player present at the 16th position in the world ranking said that if he wants to increase his professional career, then he needs to rest and save his power. Berdych said he was happy to be part of the Davis Cup winning team twice.
Berdych has consistently participated in the Davis Cup for the Czech Republic between 2003 and 2013. They gave Davis Cup to the Czech Republic in 2012 and 2013. They played against their last Davis Cup match in Germany in 2016.
